Rights and Reproductions

The St. Thomas-Elgin Public Art Centre's permanent collection represents the most comprehensive resource for visual culture in St. Thomas and ElginCounty. The Art Centre's collection contains over 900 works of art by Ontario, Canadian and international artists. Reproductions, mostly in digital form, are available for reproduction and research purposes.

The Art Centre’s curator handles all requests for the use of images of artworks in the Art Centre's collection for individual, non-profit and commercial purposes. For information on placing a request, contact lwoermke@stepac.ca for details.

Copyright
Copyright protects the creator of an artwork from unauthorized or inappropriate use of their work. The owner of copyright is usually the work's creator or heirs, unless the work is in the public domain. If you wish to use a reproduction of a work for purposes other than personal use, it is your responsibility to obtain copyright permission. The Art Centre can assist in determining copyright status and getting in touch with the copyright holder.
